D) Homework Assignment

Homework Assignment

Below is a musical piece written in the G major scale. Try transposing it into another major scale of your choice.

Transposing is of some value as a tool to facilitate original compositions, but it's true value lies in that it can substantially improve your understanding of the keys within a scale, as well as the overall nature of a particular scale. Try playing the piece below in a variety of keys, and pick the one you like the best.

E-3---3-------------0---0-------------3---3-------------0---0----------
B-3---3-------------1---1-------------3---3-------------1---1----------
G-0---0-------------0---0-------------0---0-------------0---0----------
D-0---0-------------2---2---3--2--0---0---0-------------2---2---3--2--0
A-2---2--3--2--0---3----3-------------2---2--3--2--0---3----3----------
E-3---3--------------------------------3---3-----------------------------

E-2---2--3--2--0---2---2--3--3/5----2---2--3--2--0---2---2--3--3/5
B-3---3------------3-----------------3---3------------3-------------
G-2---2------------2-----------------2---2------------2-------------
D-0---0------------0-----------------0---0------------0-------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you have transposed it to a scale of your choosing and have a version you like, feel free to add it to the ActoGuitar contributors forum to get feedback or share your work.
