Hey there, I bought a great sounding electric through MUSICIANS FRIEND catalog and it sells as a starter kit for about $249-$299, it is an IBANEZ, and I like it so much I'll probably buy a more exspensive model when I improve upon my guitar skills.......oh and practice every chance you get, much love and peace out....

A Strat knock off or Squier or a real Fender. The knock offs are much lighter (weight wise) and you can get a wide variety of tones.
