about tuning. plz help?

how can i be sure my guitar is tuned right? i looked at the tuning part of this site for beginers and im still not sure if the sound is right. also, [on average] how much are battery powered guitar tuners?

Definatly get yourself an electric tuner. You can pick them up delivered for around £6-8. I started with a KORG Guitar/Bass GA-20, very simple to use. Theres plenty to go at on ebay.
