help ^^

First of all I want to excuse for my (possibly) bad english (this is a specific theme and i don´t know all vocabularies, i use an online lexicon to compensate that.) I am from austria and its hard to understand all this theme specific vocabularies.

I started to play (i would rather call it trying to play) guitar 2 days ago.
I searched for an online service just to get into it and found that site (with which I am really happy).

so know to my question(s):

how to play this note?

E-------

B-------

G-------

D-3-----

A-3-----

E-1-----

do I just strum the 6.,5. and 4. string? When yes how to play this next note:

E-------

B-------

G-4------

D-------

A-3-----

E-1-----

I also want to ask if there is a technique or something how to pick the notes so that you can play it clear and fast (like what finger to use when you know that the next note is to play 2 frets to the left)

and last but not least:

would you advice me to get a guitar teacher or is it also possible to learn it this way? (before i get old and die)

thanks for reading

welcome to ActoGuitar! Your English is fine -- it is very clear.

you are correct: in order to play this tablature
Quote:
E-------

B-------

G-------

D-3-----

A-3-----

E-1-----
You play the 4, 5, and 6 strings.

In the following example you gave
Quote:
E-------

B-------

G-4------

D-------

A-3-----

E-1-----
You play the 6, 5, and 3 strings (NOT the 4th string -- that is skipped). That type of chord is usually played using fingerpicking, which allows you to play a chord that involves skipping strings.

The most important thing is that it just takes a lot of practice. But, you do want to be sure that you are using the right techniques, like alternate picking.

Nothing compares to finding a *good* teacher (important word there is good ). But if you are having trouble finding a good teacher in your area or cannot afford one, learning online is definitely possible; many people have done it. Perhaps the best is to use both a teacher and online web sites like ActoGuitar.

Hope this helps!
